26 Jan DBNA board to vote on Capital Improvement Projects & some Sad News
DBNA Board Members –
Happy New Year! We’re excited to enjoy a great 2018 in downtown Boise.
Unfortunately, the first news to share with you all is very sad. Board Member Karen Louise Falk passed away a few weeks ago. She was incredibly active in the Boise community for decades and was, up until her surprise diagnosis, willing and eager to help us with DBNA outreach efforts. Her life-long contributions to our city should never be forgotten.
And yet we all go on in her honor. Most recently, we have been exploring possibilities for the Capitol Improvement Grant. The deadline for this is fast-approaching — 1/31/18. We applied for (and received) the mini-grant of $1,500 for communications, web site maintenance, social event, etc. But the bigger grant could be up to $60k.
We reviewed a broad range of concepts. We decided on the following primarily because it’s consistent with the focus the City has on Arts & History for 2018.
• UNION ALLEY SIGNAGE/RESTORATION –
• GATEWAY SIGNAGE TO OLD BOISE
• MULTI-MEDIA IMAGING OF HISTORIC “FACES & FACADES”
In that light, we need to have a brief board meeting to discuss and approve our capital grant recommendations for this year. Due to the tight time constraints, we need to have this meeting Monday, 1/29 @ 6:00 p.m. at the 10th Street Station (basement of the Idanha).
Please respond as soon as possible. Looking forward to seeing you on the 29th.
